Insights from Our SEO Address Ranking Study
We conducted an in-depth study to uncover patterns in how Google Maps ranks businesses based on their addresses. By analyzing numerous Google Business Profiles (GBPs), we identified key factors that influence rankings, especially for businesses appearing in the #1 spot, top 3, and top 5 on Google Maps.
- Location Matters: Addresses closer to Google’s city center (centroid) and within Google’s defined boundaries tend to rank higher.
- Address Types: We examined how commercial vs. residential and visible vs. hidden addresses influence rankings.
- Other Ranking Factors: City size, profile accuracy, regular updates, and customer engagement all play a role in improving visibility.
